Besprekingspunten

Live-streaming en/of opnames van de GAB-meetings met/of zonder Rijk Plasman.

Via Jaap is het idee naar voren gekomen of het mogelijk en gewenst is om live-streaming of opnames van alle GAB-meetings te delen met de community. Er zijn zeer goede argumenten benoemd als voor argument. Jaap: ‘Openheid en helderheid. Het zou goed zijn om hier open over te zijn. De community kan dan zien welke meningen er geuit worden en hoe die geuit worden. En men moet kunnen waarnemen wat de GAB verder in haar vrije tijd doet voor Gulden.’. Robby gelooft dat het tot meer betrokkenheid van de community kan resulteren en gelooft erin dat er zeker animo voor zou zijn. Naast deze voordelen wordt er ook benoemd dat het opstellen en delen van notulen wellicht overbodig zou worden gezien de gesprekken open en voor iedereen te volgen zijn.
Naarmate het onderwerp meer besproken was, werd het via Paul en Matthias al snel duidelijk dat het erg moeilijk zal worden om een normale meeting te voeren, aangezien een groot deel wat besproken wordt van vertrouwelijke aard is. Er worden continue onderwerpen door elkaar heen gehaald, wat live-uitzending al niet mogelijk maakt. Het enige wat mogelijk zou kunnen zijn is een video-edit met fragmenten die wél gedeeld kunnen worden met de community. Echter zal het dan geen geheel vormen, maar half te volgen discussies. Jaap en Robby wisten niet van tevoren dat een groot deel wat besproken wordt van vertrouwelijke aard was. Jaap stelt voor om bij de huidige vergadering te kijken hoeveel vertrouwelijk is om een beeld te krijgen wat wel en niet zou werken, om aan het einde van de vergadering op terug te komen. Gezien de tijd is dit helaas niet gelukt, maar kan GAB dit verder bespreken in hun Slack kanaal. Het grootste deel van de GAB is het erover eens dat live of video-opnames in dit stadium van ontwikkeling wellicht niet haalbaar is.

Exchange listings door community voting.

Robby is met het idee naar voren gekomen om de mogelijkheden uit te zoeken om gratis op exchanges gelist te worden door middel van communtiy voting. Er is bij community voting weinig tot geen investering nodig vanuit de Gulden.com B.V., maar eventueel wel enige technische hulp of assistentie vanuit de Gulden.com B.V. Er is gevraagd of Gulden.com B.V. op dat aspect aan mee zou werken indien er succesvolle listings komen op exchanges. Rijk geeft aan dat zij andere exchanges dezelfde hulp of technische ondersteuning willen aanbieden als zij dat voor Nocks en Bittrex doen. Rijk wilt echter geen contracten bij enige exchanges hoeven ondertekenen (voor verantwoordelijkheid, etc.), evenals geen listing fee te hoeven betalen. Er volgt een discussie van het nut of onnut van het listen op meerdere exchanges en of dat op kleinere of grote exchanges moet geschieden. Het merendeel van de GAB is het erover eens dat meer exchanges wel kan resulteren in meer onafhankelijkheid en een decentraal karakter waar naar gestreeeft wordt. Meerdere exchanges kan voor meer onderlinge concurrentie van exchanges zorgen, wat voor de Gulden gebruiker voordelig kan zijn.
Rijk geeft aan dat een exchange in principe geen contact hoeft te hebben met Gulden. De code is vrij toegankelijk op Github en elke exchange is vrij om Gulden te listen. Centure zal de exchanges altijd contacteren dat er een update paraat staat zodat zij deze update(s) kunnen doorvoeren.

GeenStijl

Robby kwam met het beeld vanuit de Gulden community naar voren dat er grote vraagtekens hangen boven het onderwerp GeenStijl en de donaties die de richting op zijn gegaan naar de Gulden wallet van GeenStijl. Er is benoemd dat er veel mensen zijn geweest die forse donaties hebben gedaan richting GeenStijl en er sinds het ophalen van het donatiedoel er weinig tot geen berichten meer zijn geweest. De vraag van Robby is of hier wat meer info over gedeeld kan worden met de community.
Rijk: ‘Er wordt tussen mij en het team achter GeenStijl voldoende onderling contact gehouden. Zoals eerder al gedeeld is kampt het team van GeenStijl door de verhuizing met een technische achterstand. Zodra GeenStijl dit op orde heeft zijn er in de toekomst erg leuke dingen te ontwikkelen. Verdere integratie en het gebruik van de techniek achter Gulden ligt dus in handen van GeenStijl zelf. Rijk is tevreden met het resultaat van de samenwerking met GeenStijl tot nu toe. Er zijn ontzettend veel nieuwe gebruikers bijgekomen door GeenStijl, en daar ben ik ze heel dankbaar voor. Dat de koers daarna is ingezakt (evenals de gehele cryptomarkt), heeft helaas voor een minder sentiment gezorgd. Dat impliceert echter niet dat er niks meer in het vat zit.
Rob geeft aan: Een ontwikkeling zoals een Gulden tip die onderling aan reaguurders verstuurd kan worden is een voorbeeld (soortgelijke Bots zijn al in verschillende Telegram cryptokanalen in het leven geroepen).

Nieuwe personen in de GAB, hoe kunnen zij helpen?

Jaap kent niet iedereen die in de GAB zit, evenals de nieuwe gezichten. Jaap vraagt aan de nieuwe GAB-leden waar hun kwaliteiten liggen. Er is afgesproken dit onderling te delen op de Gulden advisory board Slack om de krachten te bundelen en gebruik te maken van ieders kwaliteiten.

Wat is het doel van de GAB in 2020?

Jaap komt met de vraag wat de doelen van de GAB zijn in het jaar 2020 en hoe de nieuwe leden hier mee kunnen helpen of aan bijdragen. Er zijn op dit moment geen tot weinig taken te geven aan de nieuwe 3 GAB community leden. Er is afgesproken om op papier vast te stellen wat de beschikbare tijd is van de nieuwe GAB leden om zich voor de GAB in te zetten. Annemieke geeft aan dat er altijd onderling taken verdeeld worden als er dan ook taken te verdelen zijn. Dat gaat tot nu toe erg goed.
Rijk vraagt naar de rol van de nieuwe 3 GAB leden en hoe zij zichzelf hierin zien staan, als reactie op de vraag van de doelen van de GAB.

Rob: Ik zie mijzelf als een schakel tussen de community en de ontwikkelaars.
Onno: Hetzelfde als Rob, met als extra om de vertaalslag terug naar de community te benadrukken.
Jaap: Ik zie dit een stuk breder in. Er ligt nog een heleboel werk om de community in een positieve vibe te krijgen. Ik zou mij daar sterk voor willen maken om dat voor elkaar te krijgen. Ik zou het fijn vinden als de GAB dat kan oppakken, naast het geven van advies aan de ontwikkelaars.
Jaap: Hoe staat Rijk daar tegenover?

Rijk denkt dat het aankomt op wat de koers doet. Zodra de koers omhoog schiet is iedereen blij en tevreden. Zodra het tegenovergestelde gebeurd, is het sentiment en de sfeer in de Gulden community veel meer negatief. Dat is altijd al zo geweest en zal niet plotseling veranderen, is zijn verwachting.

Er wordt een online GAB-meeting gepland voor de tweede week van April, zonder het bijzijn van Rijk om onderling de besproken onderwerpen opnieuw ter discussie te stellen en met elkaar gedachten te wisselen.

De GAB heeft één duidelijke vraag richting de Gulden community en wij vragen jullie om dat antwoord te delen in de #lounge van de Gulden Slack, of op Twitter. De vraag luidt: Wat zien jullie het liefst ontwikkeld worden zodra Phase 4 van start is gegaan, waarmee er een enorme mijlpaal bereikt is? Ter toevoeging of verduidelijking: Welke grote of kleinschalige ontwikkeling moet er komen? Waar moet de prioriteit nu komen te liggen?

Talking points, points of discussion.

Live-streaming and/or recordings of the GAB meetings with/or without Rijk Plasman.
Via Jaap, the idea has emerged whether it is possible and desired to share live streaming or recordings of all GAB meetings with the community. Very good arguments have been made as for argument. Jaap: ‘Openness and clarity. It would be good to be open about this. The community can then see what opinions are expressed and how they are expressed. And one must be able to observe what the GAB does further in its spare time for Gulden.” Robby believes it could lead to more community engagement and believes it would certainly be a good thing. In addition to these advantages, it is also stated that the drafting and sharing of notes might become unnecessary because of the discussions being open and for everyone to follow.
As the topic was more discussed, it quickly became clear through Paul and Matthias that it will be very difficult to have a normal meeting, as a large part of what is discussed is of a confidential nature. There are continuous topics mixed up, which already makes live broadcast not possible. All that could be possible is a video edit with clips that can be shared with the community. However, it will not be entirely, but half-followed discussions. Jaap and Robby did not know in advance that much of what is being discussed was of a confidential nature. Jaap suggest to continue the meeting to see how much of the meeting is confidential, and to return to this point at the end of the meeting. Unfortunately due to time constrains we could not return to it, but GAB can continue the issue in their Slack channel. Most of the GAB agrees that live or video recordings at this stage of development is likely not feasible.

Exchange listings by community voting.
Robby has come forward with the idea to find out the possibilities to be listed for free on exchanges through communtiy voting. Community voting requires little to no investment from the Gulden.com B.V., but possibly some technical assistance or assistance from the Gulden.com B.V. There has been a question of whether Gulden.com B.V. would cooperate in that aspect if there were successful listings come on exchanges. Rijk indicates that they want to offer other exchanges the same help or technical support as they do for Nocks and Bittrex. However, Rijk does not want to have to sign contracts with any exchanges (for responsibility, etc.), as well as not having to pay a listing fee. There will be a discussion of the usefulness or inuse of the multi-exchange listen and whether this should be done on smaller or large exchanges. Most of the GAB agrees that more exchanges can result in more independence and a decentralized character that is being seen. Multiple exchanges can increase mutual competition from exchanges, which can be beneficial for the Gulden user.
Rijk indicates that an exchange does not have to have any contact with Gulden in principle. The code is freely accessible on Github and each exchange is free to listen to Gulden. Centure will always contact the exchanges that an update is ready so that they can make this update(s).

GeenStijl
Robby came up with the point of view from the Gulden community that there are big question marks hanging over the subject GeenStijl and the donations that have gone in the direction to the Gulden wallet of GeenStijl. It has been stated that there have been many people who have made substantial donations to GeenStijl and since the donation target has been picked up there have been few to no messages. Robby’s question is whether a little more information can be shared with the community.
Rijk: ‘There is plenty of contact between me and the team behind GeenStijl. As has been shared before, geenstijl’s team is facing a technical backlog as a result of them becoming independent. Once GeenStijl has this in order, there are very nice things to develop in the future. Further integration and the use of the technology behind Gulden is therefore in the hands of GeenStijl itself. Rijk is satisfied with the result of the collaboration with GeenStijl so far. There are an awful lot of new users added by GeenStijl, and I am very grateful to them for that. Unfortunately, the fact that the price has slumped (as well as the entire crypto market) has caused less sentiment. However, that does not imply that there is nothing left in the barrel.
Rob adds: Future developments as a Gulden tip that can be sent among themselves to agitators are an example (similar Bots have already been created in different Telegram crypto channels).

New people in the GAB, how can they help?
Jaap doesn’t know everyone who’s in the GAB, as well as the new faces. Jaap asks the new GAB members where their qualities lie. It has been agreed to share this among themselves on the Gulden advisory board Slack to join forces and make use of everyone’s qualities.

What is the purpose of the GAB in 2020?
Jaap comes up with the question of what the goals of the GAB are in the year 2020 and how the new members can help or contribute to this. There are currently no to few tasks to give to the new 3 GAB community members. It has been agreed on paper to determine the time available for the new GAB members to commit to the GAB. Annemieke indicates that tasks are always shared between them when there are tasks to be shared. That’s going really well so far.
Rijk asks about the role of the new 3 GAB members and how they see themselves in this, in response to the question of the goals of the GAB.

Rob: I see myself as a link between the community and the developers.
Onno: The same as Rob, with the extra to emphasize the translation back to the community.
Jaap: I see this a lot wider. There’s still a lot of work to do to get the community into a positive vibe. I would like to make a strong commitment to that. I’d love if the GAB can pick that up, in addition to giving advice to the developers.
Jaap: How does Rijk feel about that?

Rijk thinks it’s about what the course of Gulden is doing matters the most. As soon as the course skyrockets everyone is happy and satisfied. Once the opposite happens, the sentiment and atmosphere in the Gulden community is much more negative. That has always been and will not suddenly change, is his expectation. So if the goal of the GAB is to bring the community in a positive vibe, maybe the GAB can think and brainstorm about ways to make the price of Gulden go higher.
An online GAB meeting is being scheduled for the second week of April, without the presence of Rijk to re-discuss the topics discussed and to exchange views.

The GAB has one clear question towards the Gulden community and we ask you to share that answer in the #lounge of the Gulden Slack, or on Twitter. The question is: What would you like to see being developed once Phase 4 has started, when we have reached a huge milestone? Food for thought about this: What large or small-scale development should be achieved? What should be priority number one now?
